Frequently asked questions
Why does the browser tab show the wrong title for my PDF?
Browsers and search engines use the PDF Title field, not the file name. Set a proper Title here and save.
What does "Remove all metadata" delete?
All document information fields (title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, dates) and the embedded XMP metadata stream. Page content is untouched.
Does this remove hidden personal data in the pages?
No. Names inside the page text, comments, form fields or images stay. It only clears document properties.
What is the difference between Creator and Producer?
Creator is the app the document was written in (e.g. Microsoft Word); Producer is the software that generated the PDF file (e.g. macOS Quartz).
