Frequently asked questions
What opacity should a watermark have?
Around 30–50% is visible without ruining the photo. For stock or proof images that must not be reused, use a tiled watermark at 20–30% so it cannot simply be cropped out.
Can I use my logo as a watermark?
Yes. Switch to Logo, pick a PNG (transparent backgrounds look best) and set its width as a percentage of each photo so it scales across different image sizes.
Does the watermark scale on photos of different sizes?
Yes. Font size and logo width are relative to each image's width, so a batch of mixed portrait and landscape photos gets a consistent look.
Can a watermark be removed?
A small corner mark can be cropped or retouched away. A large, semi-transparent tiled mark over the subject is much harder to remove.
