What are the most common character limits?

Why does X count my emoji or link differently?
X counts every link as 23 characters regardless of length, and most emoji and CJK characters as 2. This counter shows raw characters, so leave headroom for emoji-heavy posts.
Why does my SMS split into several messages?
A standard SMS holds 160 GSM-7 characters. One emoji or accented character switches the whole message to Unicode, dropping the limit to 70, and long messages split into 153- or 67-character parts.
Do spaces count as characters?
For almost all platform limits, yes – spaces, line breaks and punctuation count. The "No spaces" figure is useful for some academic and translation briefs.
