Frequently asked questions
Does compressing reduce image quality?
Lossy compression removes detail your eye rarely notices. At 70–85% quality most photos look identical while being 60–90% smaller. Use the preview to compare.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Quikkit compresses images entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Nothing is uploaded, so it works offline and your files stay private.
Is there a file size or count limit?
No hard limit. Very large images (50MP+) may be slow on low-end phones because the work happens on your device.
How is this different from TinyPNG?
TinyPNG uploads your files and caps free use at 20 images / 5MB each. Quikkit is unlimited and never uploads.
